School Uniform

Dressed for Success, the Te Mata way!

Our uniform is a symbol of pride in our school and who we are.

No matter where we are—at school or out in our community

— we wear it to look sharp, represent our school and to carry ourselves with confidence.

We want our children to feel comfortable and confident.  This means our children can choose from the following combinations of uniform:

Unisex

  • Red Polo Shirt with Te Mata logo.
  • Black shorts with Te Mata logo.
  • Red Fleece with Te Mata logo.
  • Black track pants with Te Mata logo.
  • Black or Red School Sandals.
  • Sports Shoes (any colour).
  • Black or White Socks (no brands visible).

Girls

  • Black Skort.
  • Te Mata school dress (Junior size 4 & 6 only on offer).
  • Black Tights in Winter (full length and closed toe).

Red School Sunhat
We are a ‘Sunsmart’ school. This means all children are required to wear a school uniform wide brimmed or bucket hat whilst at school during the summer months, from mid October to mid April. Children without hats will be directed to a shaded area during breaks.

  • Student's hair (boy or girl) that is longer than collar length should be tied up.
  • Student’s fringes (boy or girl) that covers their eyes needs to be back off their faces.
  • Plain black skins or bike shorts can be worn under the uniform however they must not be visible below the uniform when standing up.
  • No crocs, boots or jandals are to be worn.
  • Stud or simple plain earrings (one per ear) - no long earring or hoops as these can catch on playground equipment and cause potential injuries.
  • Culturally significant items (eg: Pounamu/Greenstone necklace) can be worn.
  • No make-up or nail polish to be worn at school.

Lost Property

We encourage children to be responsible for their own belongings, so please support your child by naming their clothing.

We have a great team here at Te Mata and all lost property makes it way back to the trolley outside the main doors of the Hall.

Lost property can be checked and collected during school hours.
